The composition is structured by layered mountain forms and a darkened sky, compressed into dense planes that create a quiet, enclosed atmosphere. A band of cool blue water stretches across the lower portion of the image, clearly dividing the space and introducing a sense of still order beneath the weight of the mountains. The colors are created using traditional Chinese painting pigments, which naturally merge with ink and Xuan paper through repeated layering, preserving the spirit of ink while forming restrained yet deep tonal relationships. On the water’s surface, two white horses move forward slowly, their nearly synchronized motion held apart by subtle distance, as if guided by the presence of night and wind. A small, distant human figure remains suspended in the water, forming a quiet contrast with the horses and introducing a delicate tension of scale and rhythm. Through simplified forms, measured brushwork, and controlled use of negative space, the work creates a sustained contemplative experience—the night wind is unseen, yet repeatedly felt.
